Active tour adventure gives you an opportunity to leave the jeep away and enjoy the real walking and hiking’s in the African jungle. It is not only a walking tour, but a tour that includes a day enjoying full wildlife game drives in the world well known Ngorongoro crater floor. Furthermore, on the way to this active tour adventure, you will come across wild animals like Buffaloes, zebras, Thompson gazelles, etc. Moreover, on this active tour adventure, you will climb Oldonyo Lengai mountain which is an active volcanic mountain within Tanzania with 2962mts. This mountain is very beautiful but a bit steep and hot when you approach the peak. It is advised to climbs after it is dark/during the night. The mountain’s volcanic status is still active, and it last erupted in 2010. This mountain can be climbed for about 8 hours only at night.

Afterward, enjoy a tour around the lake natron area. This is a Salt Lake and it is the largest breeding site for flamingos in Africa. A tour to the real Maasai village at lake Natron will add value and taste to your tour. Masai is a well-known tribe in Africa, their cultures are very interesting and attractive. They actually live in the savannah bush and their main activities are livestock keeping. If you are also deep in love with wildlife game viewing,  we recommend you add a day at Tarangire park. You can extend this itinerary and add a few more days for wildlife game drives and shorten the hiking if interested. This designed itinerary takes you to places where only a few numbers of tourist visits annually. Active tour adventure uses most of its accommodation on camping. A cook will be with you throughout the trip.

  • DAY 1
    Tarangire Simba Tented Lodge
    Meals: Lunch and Dinner
    Arusha / Tarangire National Park.

    Early breakfast then you leave Arusha town and drive to Tarangire park by Land cruiser, crossing the Maasai Steppe on your way to Tarangire National Park, Tanzania’s fourth-largest and one of its most diverse. Stop at the picturesque park gate for the driver to fill up the park’s registration book e. Full day game drive in the park enjoying viewing animals in the park. Soon, the impressive Great Rift Valley Escarpment will come into view – a 2,000-foot high wall that rises up, improbably steep and incredibly tall, out of the flat plains.

    Elephants, Buffalos, pythons are seen easily regularly cross your path, unbothered by your benign presence and going about their daily routines. Late this afternoon you’ll arrive at your camp where you can settle in and relax before dinner and your overnight.

  • DAY 2
    Ngorongoro Rhino Lodge
    Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
    Tarangire National Park / Ngorongoro Crater.

    Early breakfast before you drive straight to the Ngorongoro conservation area for full-day game drives down the crater floor. Full day exploring the crater floor. The area is world-renowned in its reputation and very small in its scale, so you will see other safari-goers. Don’t let that distract you from the beauty of the place or from the fact that this remains one of the only places on earth where you may see all of the Big Five at once: Lion, Leopard, Bull Elephant, African Buffalo, and Black Rhino. To maximize your time on the crater floor you will enjoy a special boxed lunch at a scenic picnic spot.

    Your journey will take you through this tremendous landscape that is constantly changing as animals move to and fro in search of pasture, water, or east prey. Early in the evening ascend to the rim and drive to ngorongoro crater rim for dinner and overnight.

  • DAY 3
    Bulati Special Campsite
    Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
    Ngorongoro Crater /Bulati Maasai Village.

    Breakfast, drive to Nainokanoka Maasai village near Olmoth Crater. Our Maasai guide will meet you here to go on a beautiful hike across the magnificent Embulbul depression. Along the way, you’ll visit a Maasai village and also take some time to learn their way of life. The Maasai are World famous for their rich cultural heritage. You will see some wildlife along the trail (No lions though). The hike is non-strenuous and takes about 7 hours to cross the depression. Evening free at the camp or go dancing with the Maasai worriers.

    Dinner and overnight; Bulati Campsite – Wilderness camping.

  • DAY 4
    Nayobi Special Campsite
    Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
    Bulati Maasai Village /Empakaai Crater.

    Drive to the rim of Embakai Crater and hike down to the Crater floor. The Embakai Crater is one of the most beautiful places on the Crater Highlands. Much of the crater floor is covered by a jewel-like lake. Walk along the lakeshore teeming with thousands of pink flamingos. The eerie lake, the occasional hyenas chasing flamingos, the wild sounds…will make your spirit join with the body. Then ascend to the rim and trek to NAIYOBI MAASAI Village.

    Dinner and overnight; Naiyobi Campsite – wilderness camping.

  • DAY 5
    Kamakia Campsite
    Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
    Lerai Forest Camp (Naiyobi)/Ngarasero Maasai Village.

    Hike down off the Great Rift Valley wall to the base of Mt. Ol’ Doinyo L’Engai. (Your pick-up Safari jeep will meet you hereafter dropping you at Ngorongoro Nainokanoka village on Day 2. From the base of Mt. Lengai, you’ll be transferred to Kamakia Camp. (Picnic lunch en route). Visit a nearby waterfall for your first real soothing bath after 3 days of going without one.

    Dinner and overnight; Kamakia Campsite – Wilderness camping.

  • DAY 6
    Heaven Nature campsite.
    Meals: Breakfast, Lunch , Dinner
    Climb Mt Ol’doinyo L’engai – 2896m above Sea level.

    Shortly after midnight, the jeep transferred to the base of Mt Ol’ Doinyo L’Engai for the climb to the peak of this live volcano. The climb takes about 3 hours at a normal pace. The climb is strenuous and requires a physically fit person. Arrive at the Peak just before sunrise.

    Behold! You’ve seen a crater with live animals at Ngorongoro, and a crater with a rainbow-colored lake at Embakai and now you will see a crater smoldering with fire. L’Engai volcanic crater looks like a field infested with red firelight insects just before sunrise. An amazing site to visit. Tour of the active Crater after sunrise.

    Later in the morning descend to the base and transfer to camp for brunch. Tour Lake Natron on the way back to Lake Manyara overnight. Lake Natron is the principal flamingo breeding area in the whole of the Great Rift Valley area.

    NOTE: On this day if you will be interested you will enjoy a night game drive in Lake Manyara and this will cost you extra

    Dinner and overnight hotel not included at Heavennature campsite or lodge.

  • DAY 7
    Meals: Breakfast and Lunch only
    Tour Lake Manyara park and Mto wa Mbu village/Kilimanjaro Airport

    Lake Manyara National Park is among Tanzania’s smallest parks. Drive through the lush garden is a gentle reminder that you are now in Africa. Exotic birdcalls fill the air. Enjoy a picnic lunch and afterward, you’ll continue game viewing of animals in the park.

    Zebra, wildebeest, bushbuck, dik-dik, and guinea fowl regularly cross your path, unbothered by your benign presence and going about their daily routines. You’ll meander along bush tracks and explore the Lake which is home to thousands of Flamingos and River’s twists and turns, finding elephants drinking and playing in the refreshing waters. In the evening drive back to Kilimanjaro airport.

    Note: Late afternoon you will visit to Mto wa Mbu village before you depart to Kilimanjaro airport.

Other Informations

Trekking Notes:  Ngorongoro crater highlands/L’engai

We provide all camping gear including spacious all-weather tents.

We recommend that you bring your own trekking gears as listed below;

All-weather sleeping bag; trekking boots (used and comfortable); a warm jacket; a wide rim sun hat; several pairs of socks; windbreaker jacket; rain gear, a good camera, sunglasses, and sun creams; a walking stick, and some medicines.

One cook will be on the trek with you. He takes care of all camp chores. You’re free to give a helping hand.   He will provide 3delicious meals per day – vegetarian or not. Most lunches are picnics as you’ll be on the trail.

We will provide 1 Guide on this Trek.

Supporting donkeys will be provided according to the luggage.

Camping during the safari

We use public camping sites, some of these are set in the wilderness and are supported with basic necessities only. During this Safari we will provide some Dome tents for camping and we provide all other camping gear like mattresses, chairs, tables, sleeping bags, Blanket, Bed, Lumps, Pillow, Binoculars, etc.

Transport while on Safari:

We’ll provide 1 special Safari Jeep –Land Cruiser 4WD.  The vehicles are fitted with a pop–up roof for game viewing and photographing.
