Tarangire has second highest concentration of wildlife of any Tanzanian National park after Serengeti and reportedly has the largest concentration of elephants in the world.<\/p>\n
The Trangire ecosystem with the park as its heart and soul, also has more than 700 resident lions, and sightings are common less visible but nonetheless present, are leopards and cheetahs. What sustain them are large herds of zebras, wildebeests, giraffes, buffaloes and other herbivores. With more than 450 bird spices, some say that Tarangire is the best bird-watching destination in Tanzania.<\/p>\n
In the rainy season the park changes completely as its wild inhabitants disperse across the Maasai steppe over the area 10 times larger than the park. This too is a Tarangire speciality; one of the park\u2019s greatest rewards is the chance to discern and tune into the seasonal rhythms of wild Africa.<\/p>\n
The main attractions of Tarangire National Park are :<\/strong><\/p>\n The big numbers of elephants, baobad trees.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n Tree climbing Pythons<\/p>\n<\/li>\n Abundant wildlife with migratory wildebeest, eland, kudu, rhino.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n Mongoose colonies destroying anthills.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n Excellent birding opportunity.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n The northern triangle bordered by the park boundaries to the northeast and west, and by the Tarangire River and Tarangire safari lodge in the south, offers the most easily accessible as well as some of the most rewarding wildlife area in the park.<\/p>\n Tarangire National Park is an excellent dry season wildlife watching, especially elephants and lions; evocated baobed-studded landscapes.<\/p>\n The middle and end of the dry season that runs from late June to October is the best time to view wild life in Tarangire National Park. In October the animals gather around the Tarangire River and are the best to visit.<\/p>\n By Air : <\/strong>The best option to get into Tarangire is flying into Kilimanjaro International Airport. This is located 46 kms from Arusha.
