About Saanane Island National Park<\/strong><\/h4>\n

I<\/b>s a Tanzanian national park in Mwanza. The park was named after Mzee Saanane Chawandi who was then the owner of the island. This park was established first as a Zoo in Tanzania in 1964.<\/p>\n

The main objective of establishing it was first to promote interest conservation of wildlife and educate the masses and secondly, to promote recreation to the people of Mwanza town. The Island was given the status to be Game Reserve in 1991.<\/p>\n
