Meet at Mtemere Airstrip in Selous and transfer to the camp for check-in and lunch, followed by afternoon game drives, Selous is the largest game reserve in Africa – 4 times the size of the Serengeti. It possesses a diverse landscape from hot volcanic springs, sporadic lakes, channels from the Great Ruaha and Rufiji rivers.
Rufiji River crossing the reserve is one of the most dramatic rivers in Tanzania’s Game reserves & National Parks which is navigable all year round. The chance to get out of a vehicle and view the game from a boat is one of the things which make Selous Game Reserve such a great place to visit. Lunch at the lodge followed by afternoon game drives OR Cultural tourism at the nearby village named Mloka if staying out of the Game Reserve. Dinner and overnight at Rufiji River Camp.
