Great wildebeests migration is very popular package and very much loved by many customers on their first visit to Tanzania. Let me tell you, if you have time and your budget allows, I advise you to choose an itinerary that will give you a chance to visit the northern Serengeti during the great wildebeests migration season. Good months and friendly for great wildebeests migration in the northern Serengeti are from mid-July, august, September, and a little bit of early October. If you find your timing and budget don’t allow you to do this, then try to visit Ndutu plain for great wildebeest migration from mid/late December down to March every year.

What to see on this safari: great wildebeests migration, zebras, wildebeests, lion, leopard, cheetah, elephant, buffaloes, and many more including colorful birds. Therefore, you will be with your driver-guide searching for Eland, Gazelle, elephant and if you might be lucky enough you will also see the Rhino though in a very small number. Expect to see something different every day while on your great wildebeests trip.

Best time and areas to witness  great wildebeests Migration: Western Serengeti from May to late June. However, northern Serengeti from mid July to early October, and Ndutu plain or southern Serengeti from mid December to late March.  Our driver guides’ responsibilities  is to make sure you see the great wildebeests cross at Mara River.

We designed this kind of itinerary to fit those people who dream to have a true experience of the great wildebeests’ migration safari crossing the Mara River area or hanging with newborns at the Ndutu plain. Or witness the big herds migrating together from one part of the park to another until they cross the Mara River and enter the Kenyan Masai Mara game reserve.
